Preschool will never be the same

We are officially a preschool going family.

You would think this is the typical first day, jitters, shyness, don’t want to go in, picture.

Wrong.

This is the why are you bothering me about looking at you, smiling, leave me alone I want to go play with toys picture.

I hope that he grows out of his wallflower phase soon.

Luckily I got this super excited shot outside.

Despite my last minute guilt over leaving our previous babysitter, this has been an excellent choice and easy transition for our family.  I pick him up on my way home whenever I’m done with work and errands, and he pretty much gives me the finger because excuse me, leave?  I’m painting here mom.  Go away.

Good thing it’s a Christian pre-school.

It’s sheer luck that my child has not yet learned to give me the finger. Though I bet our hippie preschool would probably react better than a Christian one… ! :)

  2. They’re going to learn “middle finger” no matter where they go, alas. My almost-seven year old says it, rather than does it: MIDDLE FINGER he shouts at his brother when he gets really angry. And so there I am punishing him and giggling at hte same time. Love those disciplinary mixed messages, eh? But what a delight that he’s off to pre-school happily–although a small warning: my kids always went off at first with great delight. It was only in the second and third week, when they realized this was a permanent state of affairs that the morning “I don’wanna GO” started. My fingers (even the middle ones) crossed for you that this won’t happen!
