Great post! I could not agree more with you, and what bothers me the most I think is that it seems that many people are against this change just based on the principle of it. I can't believe that we aren't at least all in agreement that SOMETHING needs to be done. The other thing that is driving me crazy is that what part of choice do those against it not understand? The last I heard, if you had coverage now that you were happy with, you are welcome to keep that coverage. I haven't been following much lately (shame on me), but I think that we should at least all be able to agree that the state of our healthcare system has a lot to be desired. The statement made by many that our freedoms are going to go down hill if national healthcare reform happens is one of the most ignorant I have ever heard! UGH!!!

Courtney - thank for your comment and sharing. I keep wishing that my work would go back to the insurance we had prior to this. It was so, so good and I was incredibly grateful for it. At this point, Adam is almost a year old and we are still paying on what we owe from his birth, plus what has accumulated this year. It's overwhelming sometimes.

I applaude you for speaking out when so many have so little to say about it. My husband and I are uninsured but our kids recieve Medicaid. Although Medicaid does not cover somethings it does cover the major things and I thank God for that. My husbands work offeres insuance but it would take more than half of our paycheck to obtain it and we just can not afford that. I pray that one day we can all come together and relize that rich or poor we all deserve to have equal care. Why should one life be worth more than another.

I will never foget the medical bills from after my mother passed away from a brain tumor. It was a constant reminder week after week that not only did my mother pass away but if she had only had insurance maybe they would have caught the tumor earlier and could have treated it. I just wish and pray that one day we can all have the same care that the few and mighty do.
