Breathable Baby Crib Bumpers

I am happy to say it’s been solved by this:

I was worried that when Adam rolled over at night, he would press his face against the crib bumper and suffocate.  I took it off.  Adam had a great time.  Every night he rolled to the side, ran his little feet up and down the rails, threw his pacie on the floor, stuck his legs through the crib slats, and called for rescue.

In my daily call to my mom, where I complain about a whole variety of things and she listens patiently because that’s what great moms do, she commented, “someone should make a mesh bumper.”

I found that Breathable Baby‘s website offers a wide range of safer alternatives to crib skirts, bumpers, sheets, and blankets. The products are also on walmart.com and can be shipped site to store for free.

The bumper has two pieces that either wind around the entire crib, if it is open at the ends, or fasten in two separate panels for a sleigh type crib.  We don’t have a sleigh crib, but the “tent” that keeps the cats out and the baby in closes off the ends…I think this crib must be the safest place in the entire house for Adam.  I plan to keep him there until he is eighteen, at which time I will encase the family car in bubble wrap before letting him drive.

Even though the bumper is mesh, it does offers some padding to keep him from hitting his head.  It prevents him  from seeing mommy or daddy in the hallway.  It keeps his hands and feet inside the ride at all times. Perfect.
